Navigating transitions with God: A Kingdom perspective
God is doing a new thing this year! Can you feel it? The shift, the squeeze, the change—a transition is happening. If you’ve been sensing it, you’re not alone.
Navigating change and transition is tricky, but as Kingdom mothers, we have the privilege of learning to do it well and teaching our children how to walk through transitions with faith and confidence. Here are a few Spirit-led strategies to help you embrace change with God at the center:
1. Start with surrendered stillness
Before making plans or pushing forward, pause. Let your spirit catch up with your body. Take a deep breath and ask God: “What are You saying in this season?” Make space to listen. Stillness isn’t wasted—it’s preparation.
2. Ask God for His perspective
Transitions often feel disorienting because we’re still viewing them through our own lens. Ask God:
“How do YOU see this transition?”
“What are You doing here that I don’t see yet?”
Shifting from “Why is this happening?” to “What are You building in me?” will bring peace and clarity.
3. Create a Kingdom rhythm in the chaos
Routines may be disrupted, but you can still anchor your heart:
Wake up with worship.
Speak God’s promises out loud.
Invite the Holy Spirit into each moment—even the messy ones.
Journal what He’s showing you.
4. Stay tethered to community
The enemy loves to isolate us during transitions. Stay connected to godly encouragement! Whether it’s a text thread, a prayer partner, or your Kingdom Motherhood family—don’t walk through transition alone.
5. Teach your kids to trust God
Transitions are powerful discipleship opportunities. Narrate your faith:
“Mommy doesn’t have all the answers, but we can ask God together and trust Him to lead us.”
Pray together.
Show them what it looks like to wait on the Lord with peace and confidence.
6. Keep your heart soft
Change can stir fear, grief, or the desire to control. Be honest with God—He isn’t intimidated by your emotions. Let Him father you through it. Allow Him to minister healing in areas where the shift feels painful.
7. Speak life over your transition
Instead of saying, “Everything is falling apart,” declare:
“This is a holy shift.”
“God is moving things into alignment for His glory in my family.”
Your words shape the spiritual atmosphere of your home. Speak what God is birthing, not what’s breaking.
God is doing something new. Trust Him. Lean into His presence. And as you transition, remember—you’re not alone. Your Kingdom Motherhood family is walking with you.
